Call of Duty: WWII Beta Will Feature the Following Content
Call of Duty: WWII is scheduled to host its first beta next week. As the time draws nearer, here is a handy list of features that participants can expect.
Sledgehammer Games has locked all single-player content for the official launch. The upcoming beta will only contain a portion of the multiplayer component. However, it should be enough to give players a fair idea about how the game plays and if it really was worth the wait.
According to the developer, the beta will feature “at least three” multiplayer maps: Pointe du Hoc, Ardennes, and Gibraltar. Considering that we are so close to the first wave, it is unlikely that Sledgehammer Games will announce more maps. Nonetheless, the developer is scheduled to host a livestream for Gamescom 2017 before the beta commences. There is a chance that more content is announced during it.
The Call of Duty: WWII beta will give players access to several traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. In addition, there will be the new objective-based mode called War. It is being introduced to the series for the first time and tasks the attacking team to rebuild a bridge in order to advance their tanks. Once done, the team must then escort the convoy to the destination.
For those unaware, Call of Duty: WWII features five different divisions that serve as multiplayer classes. The beta will not lock players to any one particular division and neither will it lock away the rest. Access will be granted to all five divisions and their respective skills. Players can switch between any division and make their characters as they wish.
Players will begin the beta at Rank 1 and be allowed to level through the progression system to unlock additional weapons, equipment, skills, training, and Scorestreaks. The developer has pointed out that not everything will be available for unlocking during the beta.
The beta officially starts first for PlayStation 4 on Friday, August 25 at 10:00 a.m. PT and ends on Monday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. PT. The next wave will then commence for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. PT and end on Monday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
Call of Duty: WWII is scheduled to officially release on November 3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
