EA DICE intends to improve upon everything in Star Wars Battlefront 2 compared to the lackluster first game. Lack of a single-player campaign was one of the complaints from the fans and critics and now the studio itself has admitted that Star Wars Battlefront was developed without any long term goals in mind.
In a new video interview which you can see above, DICE producer Craig McLeod spoke openly about the lack of long-term goals for Star Wars Battlefront. He added that fan feedback has been very helpful in making the upcoming sequel, Star Wars Battlefront 2, a better title compared to the first one.
A lot of people found that with the original Battlefront, after a few months of play, they lacked the long-term goals. So these are the things that we are really trying to make sure we nail in this new game.
Among all the things EA DICE is featuring in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2, the single-player campaign is probably the most welcomed one especially when it is canon to the main Star Wars movies. However, according to LucasFilms, the single-player campaign will be essential, saying “The story of Battlefront II is absolutely an essential story”.
Also, Star Wars Battlefront 2, like the first game, will let players play as their favorite heroes. However, DICE is nerfing down heroes in the upcoming sequel to allow players to hold their own while facing a hero.
Overall heroes will still be very much amazing things to have on the Battlefront, but you will need to be mindful of their abilities, how they play and use them to the advantages they bring to the table.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at DICE and is scheduled to launch this fall for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
