Tekken 7 was released worldwide just over a couple of months ago, witnessing an excellent reception that has proven fairly lucrative for the company.
According to an earnings report from Bandai Namco, the latest installment in the iconic fighting franchise has sold more than 1.66 million units worldwide. The publisher had previously made a forecast to achieve 2.1 million sales by the end of the year. With five more months to go, it seems likely that Tekken 7 will ride this wave into the new year and exceed original estimates.
Tekken 7 was first released for Japanese arcades back in 2015. However, it was only this past June when Bandai Namco released the game for home consoles and PC for everyone. In that light, the installment has been around for sometime. It may have not been playable by most, but it certainly helped to keep everyone on the edge in anticipation of the impending release.
Tekken 7 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is expecting its first downloadable content pack later this month, which will introduce the Ultimate Tekken Bowl mode. The second expansion pack is slated for later this year and will add Geese Howard from the Fatal Fury franchise as another guest character.
