A LawBreakers Playstation 4 patch is going to be coming soon, according to the game’s developer Boss Key Productions. The game launched yesterday on the Playstation 4 but came with a stuttering issue, so the patch is coming to hopefully correct that problem. The problem will hopefully be fixed now that the patch is out.
LawBreakers is the next creation of former Epic Games head Cliff Blezinski, who left Epic Games in 2012 but came out of retirement two years later in order to make new games. LawBreakers is the culmination of that, and fits with the more mature angle of Epic’s games. Think of it as a more violent and brutal version of Overwatch.
Players take on the role of the Law and the Breakers, two groups of heroes and villains fighting one another in the aftermath of a gravity anomaly that has caused severe damage to the Earth.
The stuttering problem that the LawBreakers Playstation 4 patch is intended to fix isn’t a big one, only causing the Playstation 4 version of the game to freeze for around a third of a second, but in shooters where reaction time is crucial a third of a second can mean the difference between life and death. It will also be fairly noticeable to anyone playing, and be more annoying than anything.
The patch isn’t that big, either; it’s only 132 megabytes, meaning that when you download it it shouldn’t take that long to finish (unlike some other patches that could be much larger than that).
The game is currently available on both the Playstation 4 and the PC, so if you’re patient enough to download the LawBreakers Playstation 4 patch you can pick it up and play it now. Or, if you’re on the PC, you can just buy the game and dive right in since the issue seems to be Playstation 4 only.
