The NBA 2K18 visuals have been shown off in a brand new trailer just release today, which shows how much 2K has been working to make the latest entry in the NBA 2K franchise the best-looking one yet. Then again, considering NBA 2K18 is the premiere basketball video game, that’s to be expected.
One of the most important parts of any sports simulator like Madden or FIFA is how accurate the player models are. After all, if a player doesn’t look like the player they’re supposed to be, how can you really think you’re playing with that team?
As such, the 2K18 visuals shown in the trailer are quite impressive. 2K has put a lot of work into making sure that everything from the player’s faces to their body dimensions actually looks like the actual players. Eyes and teeth also now respond to lighting changes, so faces will be able to work better with lighting.
One of the more important aspects of the NBA 2K18 visuals that 2K has improved is the game’s facial scanner, which made its debut in the previous NBA game. According to 2K, the facial scanner is going to be improved for NBA 2K18, along with the ability to do things like set height and weight and even shoulder width to make your character look more like you.
NBA 2K18 will be releasing on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, PC, and finally on the Nintendo Switch. The game will be releasing on the vast majority of these platforms on September 19, and while the Switch version will release on the same date digitally, the physical version of the game will release sometime later in the fall.
