Dishonored: Death of the Outsider Expanded On By Harvey Smith
One of the more interesting things that we got to see at this past E3 was the reveal of a new Dishonored 2 standalone game, entitled Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. The DLC will once again feature Daud, the assassin who killed the Empress in the original game and sparked Corvo’s journey.
Arkane Studios’s creative director Harvey Smith went into some details about the DLC, which focuses on a now older Daud and his apprentice Billie Lurk as they attempt to kill the godlike entity known as the Outsider, who is responsible for placing both Corvo and Emily Kaldwell on their journeys across both Dishonored games, giving them their powers and providing some commentary on the plot after each mission.
As you go through Death of the Outsider, Billie Lurk will travel to the seedy underbelly of the city of Karnacka, picking up various clues for how to take down the Outsider once and for all. Various groups affiliated with the Outsider will attempt to stop her, ranging from the Eyeless gang to the Envisioned to the Sisters of the Oracular Order, along with her having to deal with new clockwork soldiers.
Dishonored 2 mainly had Billie relegated to a side character who helped ferry your chosen character around Karnacka in a boat. However, in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, she’ll be front and center as she goes through the city on her own business. Billie has never been up front in a Dishonored story like this, mainly serving as second in command to Daud and his Whalers.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider will be releasing on September 15 of this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will cost $30, so if you want to wrap up Daud’s story and quite possibly kill the closest thing the Dishonored universe has to a god, you can pick it up around then.
