Call of Duty is one of the most notable video game franchises in the game industry and Sledgehammer Games is taking the franchise back to its roots with the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII. Dovelver Digital seems to be quite inspired by the franchise as the company is working on a Call of Duty documentary called CODumentary.
Devolver Digital is known for publishing some exciting indie games such as Hotline Miami, Not A Hero, and Strafe. However, its next project is a Call of Duty documentary on the entire franchise. CODumentary will be available on September 19, 2017, on VOD platforms worldwide and on the Steam Store. Check out the trailer for the documentary above.
CODumentary will be a 93 minute documentary of Call of Duty franchise created by Jonathan Beales. The documentary will chronicle how Call of Duty became one of the biggest entertainment franchises ever.
The documentary details how Call of Duty, created in 2003 by Infinity Ward, faced strong competition in its early days from a host of similar high quality WW2 games yet managed to rise to the top and sustain its position with a growing global fan base.
Like the previous entries in the franchise, Call of Duty: WWII will also feature a zombies mode that will be based on actual events. According to creative director Cameron Dayton, zombies in Call of Duty: WWII zombies mode are the scariest the players will ever see.
I think this is, without a doubt, the scariest version of Zombies that you will have ever seen. It’s the perfect storm of technology, and studio talent, and an audience that I just think is ready for something that is going to scare the hell out of them. And I think it is something that I’m going to recommend, for first-time players, do not turn the lights off.
Call of Duty: WWII is a first-person action shooter in development at Sledgehammer Games and is scheduled to launch on November 3, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
