Square Enix recently announced that one of their popular franchise, Final Fantasy XIV has crossed 10 million players worldwide.
This is 2 million shy of Blizzard’s behemoth World of Warcraft’s record when it was at its peak. From 2015’s record Blizzard officially announced that their player base dropped to 5.5 million but they planned to get it back to 10 million after the launch of the excellent Legion expansion.
It’s also important to know that Square Enix is counting in free trial players that haven’t even purchased the game. For those of you who want to try the game, the trial is still live.
Ten million player base makes Final Fantasy XIV 89th most populated country in the world. Falling between Azerbaijan and Portugal. More people live in Eorzea than in Scottland and Wales combined. Eorzea is the region that resides in the world of ‘Hydaelyn’ in the setting of Final Fantasy 14.
The new milestone goes along with the release of a new patch 4.06. That includes the Moonfire Faire seasonal event, which will begin soon. In this event, the players can take part in new quests including the face off against Ultron. The corny jokes cracking octopus boss. Previously appeared in Final Fantasy 6 and has reoccurred in Final Fantasy 13-2.
Players can obtain event items such as a ‘dyeable’ Faire version of the popular set of gears and equipment.
If you are interested in trying out FF 14, there’s an opportunity for an upcoming free trial that allows players to access all available content up to level 35. Players get a chance to create up to eight characters, experience different classes, and jobs with no restrictions on playtime.
That’s sounds really cool who might be interested to try the game. But aren’t ready to spend the money on it right away. Let’s know how was your experience in playing the game in the comments below.
