Hellblade is just a few days away from launch and Ninja Theory is gearing up its efforts to market the game. The studio has already discussed the enhancements the game will receive on PS4 Pro now, the Ninja Theory has expressed its hopes to turn Hellblade into a franchise.
Speaking with WCCFTech, creative director Tameem Antoniades talked about the upcoming Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and also revealed that while the studio is small but, it is working on multiple projects and some of them are in development in collaborations with publishers so expect some announcements in the future. He added that the studio hopes Hellblade to be successful to turn it into a franchise.
Although the Hellblade team is small, Ninja Theory is around 100 people and we are doing a mix of games including working with publishers. A healthy mix of established IP and new IP is where we want to be. Could Hellblade turn into a franchise? Never say never. I hope it’s a success so that we can at least have that choice to make.
Also, Ninja Theory has revealed that the game will blend live action cutscenes with in-game footage. According to the devs, the reason why they used live-action cutscene is the limited budget. Due to a limited budget, the artists could not create and animate additional characters for Senua.
To overcome this problem they used actors and dressed them up and shot the scenes and implemented them in the game.
In addition to this, the team also used a range of post-processing techniques to make sure these live-action scenes look and feel same as the gameplay and in the video it is almost impossible to spot the difference.
Hellblade is an upcoming action video game in development at Ninja Theory and will launch on August 8, 2017, for PC and PlayStation 4.
