Intel CoffeeLake-S is the upcoming architecture that the 8th generation CPUs will be based on. Leaks reveal that the upcoming Intel CoffeeLake-S i5 CPUs will feature 6 cores and enthusiasts chips will have a TDP of 95W. The remainder will have a TDP of 65W. The platform will support 24 PCI lanes.
The Core i7 8700K will feature 6 cores and 12 threads, with a base clock of 3.7 GHz and will boost to 4.3 GHz. Using Turbo Max technology the CPU can reach 4.7 GHz. The 8700K will have a TDP of 95W. The K means that it will be overclockable.
The Intel Core i7 8700 will also feature 6 cores and 12 thread but will not feature and unlocked multiplier and will not be overclockable. The CPU will feature a base clock of 3.2 GHz and will boost to 4.3. With Turbo Boost Max enabled the CPU will be able to reach 4.6 GHz with a TDP of 65W.
The Intel CoffeeLake-S Core i5 8600K will come with 6 cores and 6 threads. The base clock will be 3.6 GHz and will boost to 4.1 GHz. Enabling Turbo Boost Max will allow the CPU to reach 4.3 GHz with a TDP of 95W. This is an overclockable chip.
The Intel CoffeeLake-S Core i5 8400 does not feature an unlocked multiplier and comes with 6 cores and 6 threads. The CPU has a base clock of 2.8 GHz and will boost to 3.8 GHz. Enabling Turbo Boost Max will allow the CPU to achieve 4.0 GHz. The CPU will have a TDP of 65W.
