Final Fantasy 15 Multiplayer Closed Beta Is Now Available To Download

If you’re a PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold member and have purchased the Final Fantasy 15 season pass, congratulations! You can now download and participate in the Final Fantasy 15 multiplayer closed beta, ahead of the release of the game’s “Comrades” DLC. The DLC will allow co-op gameplay with your friends.

Final Fantasy games have for the most part been a single-player series except in the cases of their two MMO titles, Final Fantasy 11 and Final Fantasy 14. However, the Final Fantasy 15 Comrades DLC appears to be changing that. The DLC will allow you to create a custom character and team up with three other players to go on quests.

Players will also be able to use the game’s main party, Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus, in the game mode if you want more familiarity. However, doing a custom character allows you to pick your own abilities, almost like you’re playing a different version of Final Fantasy 14. You’ll be able to pick from a variety of different weapons, attack patterns, sigils, quests, and more.

You’ll unfortunately only be able to access a small number of those in the Final Fantasy 15 multiplayer closed beta, but hopefully the gameplay will be solid enough to make Final Fantasy 15 something that you can enjoy with others if you don’t have a subscription to Final Fantasy 14.

If the Final Fantasy 15 multiplayer closed beta doesn’t catch your fancy yet, you can still take part in any of the content currently available in Final Fantasy 15. In addition to the DLC episodes focusing on Gladiolus and Prompto (with one for Ignis being released in December), players can now take part in the Moogle Chocobo Carnival, and can also find and wear the Magitek Exosuits the game added, which makes you look like Power Rangers.

There’s no release date for the Final Fantasy 15 Comrades DLC yet, but Square Enix has promised that more details are forthcoming.
