The two 2K sports games that are going to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, WWE 2K18 and NBA 2K18, are still going to be coming to the Nintendo Switch. However, both games are going to be coming later than originally announced because of delays, though we don’t know exactly why.
The news comes from Take Two Interactive’s release schedule, which shows off the various games that the publisher is going to be releasing in the fall of this year. Alongside games like XCOM 2’s “War of the Chosen” DLC, the Kerbal Space Program Making History expansion, and Red Dead Redemption 2 are the two main 2K sports games, NBA 2K18 and WWE 2K18.
While there are exact release dates for the two games on their other platforms like the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, PC, and others, the games haven’t gotten exact release dates for their Switch versions, instead being given the general release window of the Fall of this year.
So far, Take Two Interactive hasn’t offered any sort of explanation as to why those two versions of the games don’t appear to be coming out on the Switch, but there could be any number of reasons, ranging from difficulty porting the game to the Switch, having to fix enough bugs that it would cause a delay, or any other reason.
However, until Take Two actually gives us a reason why these two 2K sports games are apparently not going to be coming out the same time as the other platforms, we can’t really make any sort of accurate guess. Fortunately the release date still says Fall 2017, which means that we’ll likely still get them some time during that time period; just not at the same time as the others.
So, if you own a Nintendo Switch and have been wanting to play WWE 2K18 and NBA 2K18, just be patient and wait for them to come out.
