Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is less than a month away from launch and fans of the franchise are excited about the game. The upcoming game features Chloe Fraser teaming up with Nadine and both will have an interesting relationship, however, the studio has revealed that Nadine was not always their first choice for the game.
Speaking with Daily Star, creative director Shaun Escayg revealed that originally the studio did not plan Chloe teaming up with Nadine for the adventure but, revealed that originally the team planned Sullivan and Sam Drake teaming up but, it didn’t work out.
o be fair when we explored the Sam and Sullivan story grew quickly and grew big quickly, but it just wasn’t as compelling. At Naughty Dog the best story wins and at the time we were exploring a number of different storylines and Chloe’s was the one that we settled on. To come out with something that felt fresh and has this new tone in the Uncharted world which was just so much more compelling at the time.
However, he added that the studio they might go with Sam and Sully in the future but, for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Chloe was the best choice. He further revealed that at one point they also considered Cutter instead of Nadine for the game but, Nadine’s character was much more compelling.
We initially explored pairing Cutter and Chloe. But we found the Nadine story more compelling. Nadine is just the perfect brew for that conflict. They’re complete opposites, but they also have the same trait for self-preservation.
Also, the future of the Uncharted franchise is uncertain as the studio will be taking a break from it for the time being. According to studio co-president, Evan Wells, another Uncharted game from Naughty Dog is very unlikely after Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as the studio has a lot of stuff going on for it.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is scheduled to launch on August 22, 2017, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
