You can also download the update by just logging into your PlayStation 4 system. The update is a few hundred MBs so it won’t take long to download and get back to gaming. While this is a little disappointing as far as updates go, we are hearing that PS4 Update 5.0 will bring major features and changes.

Some reports have surfaced which seem to suggest this PS4 firmware update 5.0 might include some of the most requested features by the community such as Game Library sorting. Sony conducted a survey back in 2015 and since then, they have been delivering the features which were requested in the survey. If that trend holds true, PS4 firmware update 5.0 will once again be giving us some, if not all, of the missing features listed below.

  • PSOne Classics
  • Hide/Remove game demos and trials from library
  • Store wishlist (similar to Steam)
  • Increase maximum number of players in a PSN party
  • Ability to change PSN ID

There are many other features that would be amazing for the PlayStation 4. However, it would take time for Sony to bring the desired features to the console, especially, the name changing option. Those who haven’t been able to change their name since PlayStation 3 days will surely want to see this feature as soon as possible.
