Just a few days remain before we get our hands on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and developer Ninja Theory has been revealing new details about the game. Recently the studio revealed that players will have the option between 60FPS or higher resolution on PS4 Pro but, did not reveal what the resolution will be for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Now, the studio has revealed the exact resolution the players can choose for PS4 Pro by sacrificing the 60FPS. The studio told WCCFTech that PS4 Pro’s enhanced resolution mode for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be 1440p. However, the game will not support HDR but, hinted that it could be added after launch.
Not at launch but it is on our wish list as we would love to see what it can do for a game like this that focuses so much on image quality.
As for the PC version of the game, the game will support 4K resolution along with uncapped frame rate and will also support Ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio. However, Ninja Theory has added that to run the game at 4K/60FPS players will be requiring a beast of a machine.
You would need an absolute beast to do 4k at 60. We don’t have recommended specs for PC yet but we will release these when we know.
In related news, Ninja Theory has revealed that the game will blend live action cutscenes with in-game footage. According to the devs, the reason why they used live-action cutscene is the limited budget. Due to a limited budget, the artists could not create and animate additional characters for Senua.
To overcome this problem they used actors and dressed them up and shot the scenes and implemented them in the game.
Hellblade is an upcoming action video game in development at Ninja Theory and will launch on August 8, 2017, for PC and PlayStation 4.
