Ubisoft: Beyond Good And Evil 2 Is Not A Risk For The Company

Fans of Beyond Good and Evil have waited years for Ubisoft to finally announce the upcoming Beyond Good And Evil 2 and gave us the first look at E3 2017. Not much is known about the game and Ubisoft has also been light on details about Beyond Good And Evil 2. Also, the publisher is not worried about the game’s success.

Speaking with GameIndustry, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot talked about the upcoming Beyond Good And Evil 2 and revealed that the company is not concerned with the game’s success as there is not much risk behind the project.

I don’t think there’s a risk there. Well, there’s always a risk when we create games, but I don’t think there’s as much risk because [Director Michel Ancel] has been through so many projects. The first Beyond Good & Evil was very good, Michel did what he wanted and what we thought would be the best for the players.

Soon, after the reveal of Beyond Good And Evil 2, Ubisoft revealed that the game is being developed on a brand new game engine. Creative director Michel Ancel had a very specific vision and to achieve that vision they have developed a completely new game engine.

French Studios managing director Xavier Poix added that the game had to be enormous and that is why they created Voyager that has enabled the studio to give players a feeling of traveling in space and they have been working on this tech for last 3 years.

Recently, Ubisoft gave us a glimpse of the game’s world in a video. The video showcases the hybrid Monkey character, Knox, from the trailer, flying around the city on top of a temple which might indicate that it is an open-world title.

No release date and platforms have been revealed for the upcoming Beyond Good And Evil 2 as the game’s development is still at “Day Zero” despite hyping up the game with a trailer.
