Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One X console seems pretty great on paper but what it actually delivers will be clear in November when it launches. However, Ubisoft believes that the console will be a game changer and shouldn’t be underestimated at all.
During a recent interview, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot said that he is happy with the company’s partnership for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed Origins game, one of the first few 4K titles on Xbox One X. He also praised the console manufacturer for focusing on delivering performance instead of wasting resources on devices like Kinect.
We like very much what they are doing because instead of having a Kinect or something this time the industry went after more power for the machine, so more immersion, better AI, and overall better games.
The Ubisoft CEO also mentioned that if Microsoft continues its dedication and support to Xbox One X, the console will help the gaming industry grow considerably and be an important factor in driving the future of consoles.
We like that because it means the industry will grow because the better the experiences, the more people want to have it. We think it has a good potential. If Microsoft is really behind it, it can do well
Xbox One X will be launching in November with a price tag of $500, which can be considered a bit high in terms of competition since PS4 Pro is priced at $399 but might be worth it if the performance it delivers is considerably more than Sony’s console. Pre-orders for Xbox One X are expected to start soon as well and the developers are currently waiting on FCC approval.
While the console will deliver a number of native 4K60FPS titles like Forza Motorsport 7, 3rd party games will also benefit from improved hardware like the Xbox One X version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
