PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Is Now The Highest Peak Player Count Record Holder For A Non-Valve Game

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently the hottest thing in gaming and despite being an early access title has been very successful. Recently, the game surpassed GTAV in terms of its peak concurrent players and now the game has achieved another milestone by surpassing Fallout 4.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now at number 3 for its peak concurrent users on Steam Charts and is also the record-holder for the highest peak player count on Steam for a non-Valve game. The game is just behind CS: GO and Dota 2 and it seems that the game might not have any trouble surpassing those too.

In related news, Bluehole studio has also detailed the August update for the game. The update was supposed to drop this week but, due to some complications, the update has been pushed to 3rd August. The August update for the game will introduce 1st person servers to NA and EU servers and only for SOLO & DUO game-modes.

Also, the studio has confirmed that players will have much more customization options for their characters. Chang Han Kim, Bluehole’s executive producer mentioned that the developers are working on adding a lot more customization options to the game.

Furthermore, the studio has revealed that the game will also come to consoles and according to the studio, the team already has the game running on Xbox One X at 30-40 FPS on 100 player servers.

We have a version running on the Xbox One X prototype in the office which can plug into the online servers. We were playing on live servers on the console at about 30 or 40 FPS. So it works on 100 man servers.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a multiplayer survival game currently in early access for PC and will launch for consoles later.
