While millions of people around the world have played Zelda and it is safe to say the majority of the creators have tried it out as well, however, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer is not one of them. Speaking in a recent interview, Branden Greene stated that he has never played Zelda and doesn’t consider himself a hardcore gamer.
He enjoys games of all kinds but isn’t on the same level as hardcore gamers who dedicate their lives to video games. In his statement, he referred to people he meets at different conventions and compared himself to them.
I don’t consider myself a gamer, compared to a lot of people I meet at these conventions where their life is dedicated to games. I enjoy games, but I don’t consider myself on that level. I’ve never played Zelda. I’ve never played these classic games because they don’t interest me.
He never touched Zelda but revealed that he played classics like Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. It seems Zelda was never his cup of tea, to begin with. He played these games until there were no servers left to play on.
I played the absolute s*** out of that game until there were no more servers left. I loved the whole idea of it: the fact there was bullet drop, that it was somewhat realistic, and I could go be a sniper quite easily.
It sounds like Branden Greene enjoys military shooters which seem to be the inspiration behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. In fact, Battlegrounds itself has become an inspiration for other publishers. Some are even ripping it off for mobile.
The game released on PC a while back in early access and an Xbox One X version was confirmed at E3 2017.
