God of War PS4 was announced back at E3 2016 and has since been one of the most talked about titles over the internet. The game appeared once again at E3 2017 and gave us a taste of the relationship dynamics between Kratos and his son Atreus.
The gameplay we saw was a good indication that Arteus will have a major role to play in the new storyline. The Norse mythology will bring Thor into the mix through Arteus. There is much more depth to the main story compared to previous games. God of War PS4 will explore these characters in a different way.
According to Engineering Lead, Jeet Shroff, the relationship between Kratos and his son.
At the heart of this adventure, this game is about the relationship that exists between Kratos and his son. Atreus plays an important role in giving Kratos the motivation he needs to want to change and bury his vengeful past. He looks to the boy as someone he must protect and struggles to bond with him.
Arteus is a strong character and someone who has seen things at a young age. Kratos and Arteus will explore the world together and compared to previous games, this installment is more open ended; still, not an open world game. Open world setting is not suitable for God of War.
Kratos’ journey to get over his vengeful past will remain linear. What’s interesting is that his iconic chains are no longer at his disposal, which makes sense considering he’s trying to move on.
God of War PS4 is releasing next year on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
