Fortnite Hero Classes Guide to help you understand everything you need to know about all the available classes, their abilities, & tips to play.
Epic’s Fortnite throws a handful of hero classes at your disposal. Unlocked through cards, hero classes in Fortnite include long-ranged fighters, melee bruisers, & builders. However, before we break down these Fortnite classes, do note that the game is still in Early Access Beta & the information is subject to change.
Fortnite Hero Classes Guide
In our Fortnite Hero Classes Guide, we’ve detailed everything you need to know about all the hero classes, what they’re good at, abilities, & some other details.
Fortnite Hero Classes Guide
Understanding Hero Classes in Fortnite
As mentioned earlier, you unlock characters belonging to a class through cards. Each of these characters shares the base of the parent class & different ability loadout. In addition to this, there are rare/legendary characters who borrow extra abilities from other characters.
Characters also have different star versions i.e. from 1-star to 4-star. Depending on the stars, characters get upgraded stats & additional starting abilities. You should be able to level up each character independently to unlock more abilities. Moreover, after reaching a certain XP threshold, you should be able to evolve your character in order to acquire additional bonuses.
It’s important to note that evolution requires specific items – you can check out our Evolution Guide attached above for more information. Luckily, weapons in Fortnite are not class-restricted. However, do note that some classes will dish out more damage with specific weapons.
Fortnite Soldier Class
Soldier class in Fortnite is arguably the most well-rounded. You’ll not only dish out an insane amount of damage but will enjoy pretty decent crafting & defense stats. However, do note that you won’t receive building bonuses & the class is fairly hard to master.
Hitting a target temporarily increases the amount of damage he or she takes. Can stack up to three times.
Make it Rain
Landing a headshot increases the commando’s rate of fire for a short time.
Allows the player to craft and use grenades.
Allows the player to craft and deploy proximity mines.
Fortnite Constructor Class
If you love building in Fortnite, you definitely need to look at the Constructor class. With this class, you’ll not only be able to build faster than any other class in the game but also build cheaper. I personally love the B.A.S.E. ability that lets the Constructor build an area that decreases the cost & speeds up the construction of everything in its range.
On top of all these benefits, the class has fairly decent defensive stats & can absorb a ton of damage before going down. However, if you like to dish out a lot of damage, you should probably look at Soldier instead of Constructor.
Deploys a large holographic cube in the environment; anything built inside it costs fewer resources for the constructor.
Makes structures built by the constructor stronger.
Deals persistent damage to enemies within the B.A.S.E. area.
Area-of-effect grenades that deal damage for a short period of time.
Fortnite Ninja Class
As the name suggests, Ninja is easily the most mobile class in the game. The sword deals an incredible amount of damage & the Mantis Leap allows the player to soar high in the sky. On the other side, Ninja has poor defense stats & can easily go down.
Allows the ninja to perform a double jump capable of vaulting over single-story walls and cliffs.
Deals additional damage with each consecutive strike of an edged weapon for a short time. Can stack up to seven times.
Allows the ninja to throw a trio of medium-range projectiles.
Creates a smoke cloud that stun-locks enemies for a short period of time.
Killing an enemy turns the player into a shadow and temporarily reduces the amount of damage taken from enemy attacks.
A powerful attack that instantly propels the ninja forward, dealing massive damage to enemies caught in their path.
Fortnite Outlander Class
If you love tanking, dishing out damage, or building – don’t bother looking at Outlander. However, the class excels when it comes to finding rare loot & increased amount of loot. If you can protect the Outlander, the class can prove to be fairly useful in the game. As mentioned earlier, do note that you won’t be able to dish out an incredible amount of damage or tank damage for your teammates.
