THQ Nordic has announced its lineup of games that will be making an appearance on the upcoming Gamescom 2017 that will take place in Cologne, Germany. While Darksiders 3 is not included in the list which is somewhat disappointing but, there are a couple of interesting things in the lineup.
The lineup revealed by THQ Nordic includes SpellForce 3, Wreckfest, Battle Chasers: Nightwar and more. However, the most interesting are the new announcements that THQ Nordic will be making at the event. According to the company, it will be announcing a new IP and a new installment in a well-known franchise.
According to THQ, it will be announcing an original new IP at the event and describes it as an open world RPG set in a unique universe and will be a post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable. The second announcement will be “a new installment of a well-known, mysterious and horrific IP.”
In related news, since the launch of Nintendo Switch many devs have praised the console for its portability. However, THQ Nordic also praises the console’s designs but is not impressed with its hardware.
According to THQ Nordic’s business and product development director Reinhard Pollice, Switch is not powerful enough as the company hoped it to be and it also makes it difficult for them to bring their games to Switch.
We’ve been in touch with [Nintendo] about Switch for more than a year, so we’ve been looking at it for our current line-up and… we look wherever it’s possible. It’s a bit sad that they haven’t gone out with a more beefy hardware but it is what it is, so we just have to work our way around it.
