Metal Gear Solid is one of the most popular game franchises in the game industry and a Metal Gear Solid movie has been in development for quite some time and according to the director, the movie will be massive. Now director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has shared his vision for the movie.
Speaking with IGN over at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, Vogt-Roberts talked about the Metal Gear Solid movie and shared his vision for it. He revealed that initially, the movie was not in Sony higher-ups’ cards saying “There was a Metal Gear book on an executive’s desk and I was like, ‘I want to do that, you have that?’ and they said, ‘You can’t do that’”.
He added that he did not stop there and spent three months to gather information to showcase his knowledge of the Metal Gear franchise. He further explained how the process of making a game into a movie works, as the director has to translate the “active experience” of playing a game into the “passive experience”.
He added that he did not care if the studio hires another director to make the movie after taking his ideas as all he wants is to see a perfect Metal Gear Solid movie saying “All I want in my life is to see a great Metal Gear movie”.
There is no doubt that Vogt-Roberts is very enthusiastic about the Metal Gear Solid movie. Recently, he revealed that he won’t make a Metal Gear movie in which there is no Cyborg Ninja.
He further talked about the possibility of fourth wall breaking in the movie but said that to him it is less important compared to “walking philosophies and ideologies” of characters.
It is still unknown when the Metal Gear Solid movie will go into production but one thing is for sure that fans are excited about it.
