Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is on the verge of release on PlayStation 4. It is coming hot as a standalone DLC but its scale of development and attention has turned into a game of itself, an Uncharted spin off starting Chloe by Naughty Dog.
The game is headed by Chloe which is a brave move by Naughty Dog. Fans want more of Nathan Drake and rumors pointed toward his inclusion in the DLC. However, not all Uncharted 4 characters are missing from The Lost Legacy. Nadine Ross, the woman kicked Nathan Drake’s butt in Uncharted 4, is back and partnering with Chloe.
An Uncharted without Nathan Drake feels weird but so far Nadine Ross and Chloe together seems to be holding the weight just fine. What’s interesting is that a game without Nathan Drake was part of the thrill for Naughty Dog.
That’s what was exciting about it for us. Without Nathan Drake the challenge was how do we ensure it’s going to be as awesome if not more awesome than Nathan Drake’s story. We’re always trying to exceed or surpass our games, to try and make the newest one better than the last one.
We looked for what the best of all the games were, and compiled them into this – and using the thief narrative of Chloe to enhance the game and change the tone to support that story.
This could very well not be the last Uncharted game and developers may be testing the waters with a game without Nathan Drake. Still, Uncharted 5 without Drake would be a hard pill to swallow. There are no DLC plans after Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
The Lost Legacy is releasing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. The game has gone gold so no delays are expected.
