Starfire Shoots Her Way to Injustice 2 Next Month

The next Queen of Tamaran is preparing to join the roster of Injustice 2 in August as the new downloadable playable character.

The inclusion of Starfire is not at all surprising since she was already announced back in March alongside Red Hood and Sub-Zero, both of whom have already been released for the game. That being said, one aspect does conflict with the storyline of the series as Starfire was thought to be dead in the first installment. Perhaps NetherRealm Studios will get around to explaining in the coming days as to how she is able to return in the sequel.

“As the next Queen of Tamaran, Princess Koriand’r found herself the victim of her fratricidal sister’s vengeful plot that resulted in their planet being conquered,” reads the official blurb. Now a royal exile on Earth, Koriand’r uses her ability to absorb and convert ultraviolet energy as Starfire.”

The announcement trailer starts off with an interesting interaction with Damian Wayne, who killed Dick Grayson but believes it to be an accident. Starfire responds by teaching the current Robin a few lessons in close quarters combat.

In addition to offering a glimpse at the fighting capabilities of the new roster addition of Injustice 2, the trailer also reveals Superman in a Bizarro costume. We are assuming that it will be part of the update that adds Starfire to the game.

A specific release date is yet to be announced. For the time being, the developer is asking us to keep a wary eye on the August-horizon for a release.
