Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man PS4 game was showcased once again over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con and Marvel Games Executive Creative Director Bill Rosemann talked about the game content and what we have seen so far through the numerous artwork shown while mentioning that the team doesn’t want to show too much and spoil the game.
One important thing about Spider-Man PS4 which Bill highlighted upon was that the artwork for the game shown so far isn’t just for show and nothing will go to waste. Whatever the developers show in gameplay footage, demos and art will ultimately be included in the game to make for an amazing experience.
Like Spider-man himself, with great power comes great responsibility. We’re lucky enough to work on these things, and it’s our responsibility to make it awesome, to make them the best Marvel games ever.
According to him, the team to developers are not only gamers but also dedicated fans of the Spider-Man property and they consider it their duty to make sure the game is perfect and fans receive a healthy dose of what it means to be Spider-Man and protecting the vast open map of New York City.
Since 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, this will be the first time that fans are treated to an open world Spider-Man game. Unfortunately, Insomniac has confirmed that the game will be a PS4 exclusive. The game will also feature a wide variety of villains, some of which, like Kingpin and Mr. Negative we have seen so far in gameplay footage or artwork.
To keep things fresh and engaging, the Spider-Man villains will have widely different combat tactics and players will need to mix up their strategies in order to defeat them.
Insomniac’s Spider-Man PS4 currently doesn’t have a fixed release date besides a general release window of 2018.
