The August Games With Gold selection, the Xbox promotion that will offer free games to holders of Xbox Live Gold accounts, have apparently been leaked online. While we don’t know if the news is legitimate or not, we’ll just have to wait and see if the listing turns out to be correct.
The four different games that are going to be part of the promotion are Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Firewatch for the Xbox One, and Forza Horizon 2 and Condemned for the Xbox 360. While on paper it seems only two games are available for the Xbox One, depending on what games are available on the Xbox 360, Xbox One gamers may get more than two games.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India is the second entry in the Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles games, telling the story of an Indian member of the Assassin Brotherhood. The previous game starred Shao Jun, who made her first appearance in Assassin’s Creed: Embers.
Firewatch tells the story of a man named Henry, who takes a job as a fire ranger to try and clear his head and deal with the dilemma of his wife suffering from early-onset dementia, while also trying to uncover a mystery in the national park he’s watching for.
From the two Xbox 360 entries in the August Games With Gold games, Forza Horizon 2 is the immediate predecessor to Forza Horizon 3, which came out last year, and serves as an open-world alternative to the Forza Motorsport games. Condemned is a survival horror game where players take on the roll of a crime scene investigator as he tries to hunt down a serial killer.
The August Games With Gold will most likely be revealed by Microsoft around the end of the month, so if any of them take your fancy be on the lookout for when they’re officially announced.
