Dying Light launched almost 3 years ago and developer Techland has been supporting the game since with DLC. The game still has a healthy player base and the studio has announced that it will continue to support Dying Light with a year worth of new DLC and it will be free for all.
Techland will release a total of 10 pieces of DLC for Dying Light over the course of the next 12 months. These DLCs will include new types of zombies, in-game events, new locations for players to explore and more. These DLCs will be offered for free to everyone across all platforms.
The first DLC for the game will be Content Drop 0 which will roll out in coming weeks. It will introduce new types of zombies. According to the devs, the in-game events will be much more frequent and revealed that the events will pop-up up to four per quarter. The studio also plans to continue tweaking the gameplay and balancing based on fan feedback.
In related news, the studio is also working on a new open-world fantasy RPG. The new Ip will feature elements like co-op multiplayer and single-player. Damien Monnier who is a notable former designer of The Witcher franchise is also working on the game.
Techland said that they are excited to welcome Damien to the studio and they have big ambitions for their upcoming game for which they require “people with ingenious ideas”.
