Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is just a month away from launch and the game has already gone gold. Uncharted is one of the most popular series in the game industry and after the launch of Lost Legacy, fans are expecting more. Now, Naughty Dog has revealed that the series is still alive.
According to creative director, Shaun Escayg, there are currently no DLC planned for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and the studio’s sole focus is the game itself. He added that the Uncharted universe is a big place and there are a lot of things that can be explored.
We currently have no [DLC] plans, as we focus exclusively on The Lost Legacy. But let me say the Uncharted World is so huge, there are so many characters to explore, there are so many views and directions that the game can go, so I can only guess that the series is kept alive.
However, another game in the Uncharted series is unlikely as the studio will be taking a break from it for the time being. According to studio co-president, Evan Wells, another Uncharted game from Naughty Dog is very unlikely after Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as the studio has a lot of stuff going on for it.
I would say that Naughty Dog doing an Uncharted after this is unlikely. I would never say never, but we’ve got The Last of Us Part 2 on our plates and there’s so much other stuff that [we want to explore].
Also, Naughty Dog has revealed that The Lost Legacy was not planned as standalone from the start of its development. The team “contemplated” Uncharted 5 but due to The Last Of Us 2, the team settled for “something more condensed that could release in a year’s time”.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is scheduled to launch on August 22, 2017, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
