After several weeks of waiting, Sledgehammer Games has finally unveiled the Call of Duty: WW2 Nazi Zombies trailer, showing off what we’ll be doing to fight the hordes of German undead that have been released through some convoluted mockery of science or another, but a private beta was announced as well.
According to the story of the mode given in the trailer’s description, players will be taking on the role of Allied soldiers who travel to a small Bavarian village in Mittelburg, in Germany, in order to recover priceless artifacts that have been looted by the Nazis during the war. However, there is much more at stake here than simple artifacts; Nazi science has created a horde of zombies to unleash on the world, in order to surely win the war.
The Call of DutY: WW2 Nazi Zombies trailer actually looks like a horror movie trailer, being filled with jump cuts, blood, ominous imagery, and creepy music. This is in contrast to other Nazi Zombie reveals, which have normally been given soundtracks that fit more towards the “have fun with friends” angle than the “survive a horror situation” angle.
Either way, it looks like the Nazi Zombies mode in World War 2 will have all the cool toys and gadgets that are normally in the Call of Duty zombies modes, though from what we can see in the trailer there will also be other zombie variants, including what looks like one who’s been hooked up to a bunch of Tesla coils.
The tail end of the Call of Duty: WW2 Nazi Zombies trailer also revealed a bit of interesting info, namely that there will be a private beta for those that pre-order the game on August 25, exclusively on the Playstation 4. So, if you own that console and have pre-ordered the game, be on the lookout when that date rolls around and be prepared to fight zombies.
