Street Fighter 5 Character Unlocks Guide to help you unlock all available DLC characters & stages without spending a minute playing Online Matches. When it comes to Street Fighter 5, it’s a common misconception that you need to buy the game’s Season Pass if you wish to unlock all DLC characters, as the Fight Money is hard to come by since an Online Match only provides around 50 FM.
In this Street Fighter 5 Character Unlocks Guide, we’ve detailed a small roadmap detailing things that you need to do in order to unlock all available DLC characters & stages in the game.

In our Street Fighter 5 Character Unlocks Guide, we’ve detailed everything you need to know about unlocking all the DLC characters and stages without spending a second in Online Matches.
Street Fighter 5 Character Unlocks
Completing the Cinematic Story Mode
Okay, so the first thing that you need to do is to complete the Cinematic Story Mode. You can do so on Normal or Hard, depending on your skill level. I, however, recommend completing one run on Normal & another run on Hard in order to maximize your Fight Money. Those of you who don’t know, completing the Cinematic Story Mode on Normal should net you 30,000 FM & complete it on Hard should secure you 50,000 FM. In addition to this, do note that you can always skip the cutscenes in order to save some time. The best thing? You had to play zero online matches while earning this 80,000 FM.
Completing the Individual Stories
Once you’re done with the Cinematic Story Mode, it’s time to give the individual stories a go. Completing a character’s story should net you about 10,000 FM. Try to complete every character’s individual story in order to earn about 160,000 FM. This FM alone should allow you to buy about 2 DLC fighters in the game – without even having to play a single online Street Fighter 5.
Completing the Survival Mode
After you’re done with the Cinematic Story Mode & Individual Stories, try your hands on the game’s Survival Mode. Once again, the difficulty setting is entirely your call but I recommend ‘Easy’ in order to save some time. Try to complete the Survival Mode with every character. With a character, you should easily be able to secure about 6,000 FM. With all the characters, you should earn about 144,000 FM. It goes without saying that you don’t have to complete the Survival Mode with all characters in one sitting – try to take things slow & take your time.
Completing the Survival Mode on Normal
Once you’re done with the Survival Mode on ‘Easy’, ramp up the difficulty a little i.e. to ‘Normal’ & try to complete it. At the completion, each character should net you about 10,000 FM – completing the Survival Mode on ‘Normal’ with all the characters should let you secure around 144,000 Fight Money.
Watching the Demonstrations
There are three levels of Demonstrations in Street Fighter 5 i.e. Beginner, Intermediate, & Expert. After you’re done watching all of them, you should easily be able to secure 3,000 Fight Money. And in case, you’re wondering, we didn’t play a single Online Match as of now. If our calculations are right, by now you should’ve accumulated more or less 483,000 Fight Money in the game. In addition to this, by now you should’ve unlocked Character-Specific Demonstrations, with each Character-Specific Demonstration offering 500 FM. If you manage to watch all of them, earning this additional 8,000 Fight Money should be nothing.
Once you’re done with all the things mentioned above, you need to buy a couple of characters that you like & repeat everything mentioned above with your favorite characters i.e. Individual Stories, Survival on Easy, Survival on Normal, & Demonstrations. Each character should net you 25,000 FM & you need do this with all the characters.
After you’re done with these, you can do the following:
- Leveling Characters
- Survival on Hard & Extreme
- Complete Weekly Challenges
- Character Trials Volume 1 & 2
- Free Fight Money from Capcom
- Special Tournament Challenges
