Hearthstone’s Knights of the Frozen Throne Sees the Lich King Handing out Free Ice Cream

Blizzard has special plans in place to promote Knights of the Frozen Throne, the next upcoming expansion pack for Hearthstone.

Yesterday, the developer announced that it will be setting up ice cream stalls for the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con later this week. The Ice Cream Citadel, paying homage to the Ice Crown Citadel, will see the Lich King himself and his minions handing out free cones to everyone. There will be two flavors to choose from: “Villain-illa” and “Scourgeberry Sorbet.”

Take note that the stalls will be set outside of the venue, catering to both attendees and non-attendees. In addition to enjoying the tasty treat, fans will be able to grab pictures with actor Brian Posehnr and famed cosplayer Jessica Nigri. There will also be professional Hearthstone players of Tempo Storm to interact with followers of esports.

Knights of the Frozen Throne was announced over a week ago and is based on an alternate setting where the Lich King successfully defeated the heroes of Warcraft and raised them as Death Knights to do his bidding.

One of the key new mechanics will be in the form of legendary hero cards that replace the current nine playable classes with powerful Death Knight versions. These grant new modified abilities and can essentially turn the tide of battle.

The 2017 San Diego Comic-Con is scheduled to take place from July 20 to 23 at the San Diego Convention Center in California.
