Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of the most anticipated games to launch this fall and fans are particularly excited about the game’s single-player campaign. With the game nearing its launch DICE has geared up its efforts on the game and according to LucasFilms, the game’s singleplayer campaign will be essential.
EA has unveiled a new behind-the-story peek at Star Wars Battlefront 2 as part of Disney’s D23 event in which developers, writers, and cast talk about the game, specifically the game’s story and what it means for the Star Wars Saga.
In the video Steve Blank, creative executive at LucasFilms explains that the story of the game will be essential, saying “The story of Battlefront II is absolutely an essential story”.
However, this certainly makes sense since Star Wars Battlefront 2’s singleplayer campaign will be canon to Star Wars movies.
Star Wars Battlefront 2, like the first game, will let players play as their favorite heroes. However, DICE is nerfing down heroes in the upcoming sequel to allow players to hold their own while facing a hero.
Overall heroes will still be very much amazing things to have on the Battlefront, but you will need to be mindful of their abilities, how they play and use them to the advantages they bring to the table. Can opportunities arise in being able to slaughter your opposition, sure, but you need to be tactical about it. As we reveal more about the heroes and how they play, you will get a deeper understanding of their value.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a first-person action shooter in development at DICE and is scheduled to launch this fall for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
