The bolstering roster of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite has seen another inclusion that will be available for the masses when it releases later this year.
During the Evolution Championship Series (EVO 2017) over the weekend, the developer confirmed Jedah Dohma as the next playable character for the game. For those unaware, he is over 6000 years old and hails from a noble heritage of the demonic race featured in the Darkstalkers franchise. This will be the first time that Jedah is making his way into the Marvel vs Capcom series. Previously, we have mostly seen the female cast such as Morrigan make the crossover.
We are yet to see the new character in an official trailer. We did, however, get a glimpse of him in action during an exhibition match between Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez and Peter “Combofiend” Rosas at the conclusion of the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament on the weekend. Capcom’s Combofiend picked up Jedah in the last game of the set, footage of which can be seen below.
Armed with a pair of scythes, Jedah can perform a nasty pin-wheel attack that should be familiar to fans coming in from the Darkstalkers franchise. In addition, his wings appear to give him a few options with which to move about the map.
With the inclusion of Jedah, the roster of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite has increased to twenty-five characters. That includes thirteen for Marvel and twelve for Capcom. The game is scheduled to release on September 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It hopes to sell at least two million units worldwide.
