Besides winning, currently the only real way to stand out in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is through customization and the game offers a pretty decent amount of customization options for the characters. However, it seems like Bluehole might not be satisfied with the current number of options available in the game as they are looking to expand them drastically.
In an interview with PVP Live, Chang Han Kim, Bluehole’s executive producer mentioned that the developers are working on adding a lot more customization options to the game, besides the recently datamined ones.
We plan to give our users much more control over character appearance by implementing Anticto’s Mutable character customization system. Soon, you will be able to design your character to a tee
Currently in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, character customization allows players to change their skin color, hair style and face design besides offering them cosmetic slots for their apparel which includes shoes, gloves, shirts and masks. However, there have been reports from previous datamined information that a lot more character customization options will be heading to the game.
While there is currently no fixed date on when these options will be available, considering the game is set to release by the end of this year, players might not have to wait too long. Once the new character creator is in place, Battlegrounds players should have more control over their character design including options for tattoos. Players will also be able to import custom images to use on their tshirts in the game.
Of course, for all these options players will still need BattlePoints to customize their character after the initial creation or buy crates for more cosmetics to wear.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available on Steam as an Early Access title. The game puts 100 players on an island in a Battle Royale where they have to kill others and constantly move to avoid a circle which deals damage.
