Tips and Strategies

The minigun at Vanguard’s disposal is arguably its best asset with some unique and powerful traits. Upon bring fired, the minigun continues to accumulate increased accuracy and rate-of-fire. Keeping this in mind, I advise against firing in short bursts as most of us are used to. The minigun also has an alternate firing mode that lets Vanguard unleash a pulse that pushes enemies away.

The pulse, however, uses the same Afterburner fuel used by Vanguard’s jetpack so make sure to use it carefully! I highly recommend keeping an eye out on the fuel tank before making a decision to use the pulse. Otherwise, you can get stuck in a sticky spot. The pulse attack itself is incredibly devastating and rewarding.

In addition to this, you also have access to Meteor Shells, a cluster grenade, which you can use in order to catch stragglers. While it deals a great amount of damage, don’t expect it to finish off an enemy at full HP. Speaking of HP, with 300 HP, Vanguard is not as squishy as Assassin but the HP pool doesn’t let you play recklessly. If you are using your jetpack and minigun to their full potential, you should absolutely no issues staying alive.

Finally, coming to Vanguard’s ultimate ability, it’s called Starfall and lets Vanguard slam the ground with a devastating effect that damages all the enemies inside the slam radius. In addition to damaging enemies in its slam radius, you can also use the Starfall in order to break the gravity wells.
