Report: Nintendo Switch Has A Built-In NES Emulator

It has been months since the launch of Nintendo Switch, hackers have had ample time to dig out the secrets of Nintendo's hybrid console.

Nintendo Switch launched earlier this year and has been selling like hotcakes. As it has been months since the launch of Switch, hackers have had ample time to dig out the secrets of Nintendo’s hybrid console. One of the most interesting features found in the console is the built-in NES Emulator.

According to hackers, the built-in NES emulator in Nintendo Switch is named Flog, however, very little in known about the emulator. Nintendo has already announced that NES games will be coming to Switch and Super Mario Bros. 3 and Dr. Mario are confirmed for Switch release.

With Flog built-in Switch, it would be easier to bring NES games to Nintendo Switch and almost no changes to the firmware will be required. This might also indicate that Nintendo might roll out emulators for other Nintendo consoles to support other formats when Switch’s online service launches.

In related news, a report has emerged on the internet suggesting that Ubisoft is facing problems to port Steep to Switch. The report suggests that running the game on Switch is not a problem for Ubisoft but, the actual problem is the online features.The report suggests that Ubisoft is finding it so difficult that the company has brought in Nintendo for help.

However, other developers like Telltale Games is eager to bring its games to Switch. According to Telltale Games’ Job Stauffer, while the studio has not announced the Minecraft: Story Mode second season for Switch but, hopes that it will be in the future.
