Microsoft is one of the biggest companies in the world and it is no surprise that mass layoff rumors about the company hit the internet hard. It was reported that Microsoft will let go of 3-5000 employees from sales and marketing departments. Most of these people were outside of the United States. Today the company has confirmed this to be true.

Microsoft has confirmed that starting today the company will be laying off some people and other people might be reassigned. Microsoft is a big company and the company evaluates its needs continuously. Such companies see the need for change and that change is radical otherwise it can drastically hurt the company.

That is one of the reasons why mass layoffs happen in the first place. The official statement from Microsoft is as follows:

“Today, we are taking steps to notify some employees that their jobs are under consideration or that their positions will be eliminated.┬áLike all companies, we evaluate our business regularly.┬áThis can result in increased investments in some places and, from time to time, re-deployment in others, “

Microsoft has not specified how many people will lose their jobs but then again when everything is said and done we will get a number. It is interesting to see that most of the people that are being let go are from outside the US. We do not know why this is so, at this point in time. But I am sure that there is a logical explanation behind this.

It is safe to say that in order to move forward and to stay in the business companies need to make such hard decisions and need to make these decisions quickly. You can click here to learn about the latest Xbox One X updates.
