A brace of new Rocket League content has released, bringing a new stadium to the game along with new cars and a number of items from the hit animated TV series Rick and Morty. The new update comes two days before the game’s second anniversary, which is happening on Friday.
Rick and Morty tells the story of Morty Smith and his crazy mad scientist uncle Rick Sanchez as they travel the universe getting into all kinds of crazy adventures. The show has apparently become popular enough on Adult Swim and Hulu to justify all of these new detail items being put into Rocket League.
The items include new Rick and Morty antennae, toppers in the shape of Cromulons (a race of giant alien heads that feed off of people’s talent), Mr. Meeseeks (a race of beings that exist to do one task and then poof into nonexistence), and Mr. Poopy Butthole (a minor character that appears in an episode). There’s also an Interdimensional GB Rocket Boost, and new wheels.
Other bits of new Rocket League content include a Rocket League radio station with a default playlist, the Animus GP and CentioV17 cars that are available in the new Overdrive crate, new customization options, and the beginning of a new competitive season.
Rocket League is one of the most downloaded titles on the Playsation 4, and the fact that the game is still going strong after two years proves that it won’t be slowing down anytime soon. That’s also being helped by Psyonix porting it to every sort of console they can, including the PC, the Xbox One, and possibly even the Nintendo Switch.
The full patch notes with the new Rocket League content update will be coming out at 11PM tonight (3 PM Pacific Time). In the meantime, if you still play Rocket League and are a fan of Rick and Morty, be on the lookout for some of the new stuff you can get.
