Sumo Digital: Xbox One X Eats Crackdown 3’s 15K Props Simultaneously Like Breakfast

More and more devs are now realizing the potential of upcoming Xbox One X and Crackdown 3 developer Sumo Digital is one of them.

Xbox One X has been getting a lot of praise from developers since its reveal as its a console capable of running games at native 4K and some at 60 FPS like Forza Motorsport 7 will run at native 4K/60FPS on the console. More and more devs are now realizing the potential of Microsoft’s console and Sumo Digital is one of them.

Speaking with Official Xbox Magazine, Sumo Digital’s Design Director Gareth Wilson praised Xbox One X saying that there is a “night and day difference” between Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. He added that the console is so powerful that it simultaneously runs 15K props in one scene and makes it look easy.

We’ve got something like 15K simultaneous props moving around in our game [Crackdown 3]. Now the Xbox One X just eats them for breakfast.

You can just go and go and go with it. Once we start making games that are optimized for that platform, it’s going to be badass. I don’t mind saying that it’s significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 4 Pro, and we’ve worked with PS4 Pro. It’s way more powerful. It’s a night and day difference.

Since the reveal of the console, Microsoft has been revealing new details about the game. While the console is definitely able to run games at native 4K but, the resolution is not the only thing that will be improved on the console. According to Spencer, games’ physics will also be improved with Xbox One X.

However, many not happy with the price of Xbox One X and Mike Ybarra has explained that it would not have been a 4K console if it was priced at $399.

Crackdown 3 is an upcoming open-world action adventure game in development at Sumo Digital exclusively for PC and Xbox One.
