A new World of Warcraft Easter egg has been found in the Tomb of Sargeras raid, and it’s a doozy of a treat. The Easter egg actually allows you to become a raid boss, taking the form of the orc warlock Gul’dan and allowing you to attack your own teammates.
In order to take part in this little Easter egg, you obviously have to enter the Tomb of Sargeras raid, which takes you into the heart of the Burning Legion’s foothold on Azeroth as you fight to destroy the portal that’s allowing the demon hordes to invade the world.
Throughout the raid, eagle-eyed players may discover that there are various runes situated throughout the place. Only one player can click on these runes, however, and they’re timed to the lockout between raids, so you have to get them all in one run.
If you manage to click every rune, then the World of Warcraft Easter egg activates, transforming you from your previous character into Gul’dan. While you’re this brand new, surprise raid boss, you’ll be able to attack your teammates with a flaming scythe, hurl fireballs, and shoot out a huge stream of fire.
However, there is one disadvantage that you should be aware of if you’re a non-tank class; the Easter egg boss’s health is tied to your own health pool, meaning that it could be easy to take them down or very difficult, depending on class. So, if you want to try and pull this off, be sure that you’re a class that can both take punishment, as well as dish it out.
If you want to figure out how to take part in this new World of Warcraft Easter Egg for yourself, someone has recorded a handy little video that you can watch and see what the effects are.
