Overwatch is one of the most popular titles in the game industry which is very impressive since it has been a little over a year since its launch. While the game is available for PC and consoles but, Nintendo Switch users are expecting the game to come to the hybrid console.
While Blizzard Entertainment has not ruled out the possibility for the game to come to Switch but, the studio has showed no interest on that front. However, one user has managed to run Overwatch on Nintendo Switch even though the game is not running on the hybrid console itself.
Twitter user, Andrew Sampson, is the one who managed to run Overwatch on Nintendo Switch. However, there is a catch. The game itself is not running on the hybrid console but, it being streamed using an APP. The app in question is “Rainway” which lets users to stream PC games on other devices.
In related news, Microsoft has announced that Minecraft for Nintendo Switch will support Cross-Platform Play with other devices and Nintendo has revealed why it supports Cross-Platform Play. Acording to Nintendo of America corporate communications director Charlie Scibetta, the company trying to be more flexible and want gamers to have a good time.
I’m really happy just as a gamer, let alone working for the company, that [cross play is] going to be possible. We’re trying to be more flexible as a company. We’re reaching out to try and get people to interact with our IP. In this case Rocket League is [developer Psyonix’s] IP on our system, but we’re trying to get people involved with us in any way we can.
