Phil Spencer, the president of Xbox, has said that Xbox and Microsoft will talk more about Xbox One X enhanced games later in the summer. This may mean something like Gamescom 2017 (where BioWare has said they’ll show off more of Anthem) or some other event that’s Xbox exclusive.
The Xbox One X was finally revealed at E3 and got a lot of buzz, though Microsoft didn’t show off very many games that would be played on it. The Xbox One X will also have to catch up to the Playstation 4 Pro, which has been on the market for nearly a year and is also a 4K console for the Playstation crowd.
Before the reveal of the Xbox One X, Microsoft said that the decision to make Xbox One X enhanced games or keep them at the regular Xbox One’s level lay with the developers, though with the number of developers that are praising the Xbox One X and its power we may see more than a few games that can be played on both.
The Xbox One X has dealt out a lot of promises prior to its E3 reveal, such as being more powerful than the Playstation 4 Pro and with more powerful processors that would help it to get better visual quality and resolution. This could be a definite help with the Xbox One X enhanced games. However, since we don’t really have examples of what games will look like on the Xbox One X, it may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
There are bound to be a lot of games that both the Xbox One X and the Playstation 4 Pro would be able to run if the developers put enough care into it, but with the head start that the Pro has over the Xbox One X, plus the multiple ways that the Playstation 4 is ahead of the Xbox One, Microsoft will have to work hard to make it a success.
