Xbox and Larry Hyrb have revealed the July Games With Gold for Xbox Live Gold members, offering four titles to choose from when July rolls around. The four titles are Kane and Lynch: Dog Days, Grow Up, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, and Runbow, all available on the Xbox One or 360.
The games are actually all fairly different from one another, as three are bright and colorful while one is gritty and violent, and the same three are also much more kid-friendly than Kane and Lynch.
Kane and Lynch: Dog Days is the sequel to the shooter game Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, which tells the story of the eponymous pair of violent criminals as Kane and Lynch work together to run guns for a crime boss in order to both retire and help Lynch’s estranged daughter. However, the deal goes bad, and Kane and Lynch must survive long enough to escape China.
Along with the other two games in the July Games With Gold selection, Grow Up is a much more sedate game, focusing on a tiny red robot named BUD as he grows an enormous Star Plant high enough to help oxygenate his planet.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is a licensed game, replaying the events of the first four Pirates of the Caribbean films with the telltale whacky humor of the Lego licensed games that have covered other games like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel.
The last of the July Games With Gold is Runbow, a competitive platforming game where players run through a color-changing obstacle course to be the first to grab a trophy at the end. Originally released for the Wii U, Runbow has been ported to the Xbox One this very month and is now available.
All of these games will be available for free when the month cycles around and puts these games in the new Games With Gold spot.
