Resident Evil 2 Remake Isn’t Bringing Back Ada Wong Voice Actress
In development since 2015, Resident Evil 2 remake has ditched many original voice actors. The game dropped Leon and Clair’s voice actors for the Resident Evil 2 remake. And now, it has been confirmed that Ada Wong’s voice actress is also dropped.
Courtenay Taylor previously portrayed Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil: Damnation. She spoke about the matter on Twitter and stated that although she loved Ada Wong, she is not a part of Resident Evil 2 remake.
Unfortunately, no. I loved voicing Ada Wong and would happily do it again if a Union project comes around.
The remake has been surrounded with negativity ever since it was announced. No original voice actors caused a backlash and cancellation of a fan-made remake added fuel to the fire. The remake was being developed by Invader Games but was canceled shortly after the reveal of Capcom’s remake.
Capcom called us up in advance of the announcement and asked us if we would mind stopping the project as they had long term plans for a Resident Evil 2 Remake. They have invited us to a meeting to discuss further ideas
Resident Evil 2 remake is still without a release date after almost two years of its announcement. It looks like Capcom wasn’t lying when it said it had long-term plans for the game. Capcom’s development team is also working on an unannounced Resident Evil project.
In a recent interview, Resident Evil 7 Director Kōshi Nakanishi and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Director Yasuhiro Anpo stated that Capcom is working on an unannounced RE title. The project is not expected to be revealed anytime soon.
