It is finally time to take control of the nostalgic and powerful returning class from the second installment with the Rise of the Necromancer pack.
Posting on the official website, Blizzard announced that the new content expansion will be available for a digital purchase next week on June 27. What was originally developed to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the franchise will set fans back by $14.99 / £12.99 across all three platforms, depending on the region.
“Known to uneducated outsiders as Necromancers, these masters of blood, bone, and the dark arts are often misunderstood,” reads a description. “Driven to protect the Balance at all costs, those dedicated to walking this path see neither good nor evil in their actions; simply obedience to the cycle of being.”
In addition to the new class in both Campaign and Adventure modes, the Rise of the Necromancer pack features several exclusive digital items. This includes a pair of cosmetic wings, new Necromancer-themed banner and portrait frame, pennant, two additional character slots and stash tabs.
The release will be accompanied by Patch 2.6.0, which will further add new features to Diablo III. The developer has already confirmed the arrival of Challenge Rifts, a weekly static version of a previously completed Greater Rift. Players can also expect to explore the new Shrouded Moors, Temple of the Firstborn, and Realms of Fate zones.
Take note that the new locations are part of the Reaper of Souls expansion pack, and will be available for owners for free. In other words, if you are just interested in the new zones, you do not require to purchase the Rise of the Necromancer pack.
Those playing Diablo III on consoles should be aware of the Diablo III: Eternal Collection, which is only available on PlayStation 4 and XBox One. It bundles both the Ultimate Evil Edition and the Rise of the Necromancer pack in one package for $39.99 at the start.
