Ubisoft will introduce new features to Far Cry franchise with the upcoming Far Cry 5. The upcoming game will also feature companions that players take with them to complete missions and Boomer The Dog is one of them and it is also the most interesting companion too. Now, Ubisoft has revealed that the dog is named after a real canine.

t’s actually the name of my best friend’s dog. That’s what it is. My best friend’s got this cool dog and I was like, ‘that would be a good name.[Boomer] is nuts and crazy and fun. He’s so great.
The premise of the upcoming sounds amazing and Ubisoft has revealed that the game’s story is being penned by Bioshock Infinite writer, Drew Holmes. Holmes has a lot of experience under his belt. Holmes started out from Volition, who is the developer of the Saints Row franchise. He has also worked as a writer for both Red Faction: Guerrilla and Saints Row the third. He also worked alongside Ken Levine on Bioshock infinite.
Also, Far Cry 5 will not support local co-op and players will only be able to play online co-op. Ubisoft co-op will only be playable through online and players will not be able to play co-op locally. However, no reason behind this decision was revealed hopefully Ubisoft might include local co-op in future.
