Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Characters You Should Know Before Playing
At E3 2017, Bethesda announced the next Wolfenstein, The New Colossus. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is a direct sequel to the last installment and sees the return of protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz. He is, however, in bad shape and still recovering from the deep wounds resulting from the explosion that concluded The New Order.
The novice would be unfamiliar with the game’s characters so if you are new to the series, this article is the right place to be. Here are all the characters you need to know about before playing Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Keep in mind that the following information may spoil some of the stories of previous games so if you intend to play The Old Blood and The New Order before The New Colossus, it is probably best to not go beyond this point.
William J. Blazkowicz
William J. Blazkowicz is from Taxes and is the lead character of all Wolfenstein games. During World War II, B.J. was a Captain in the U.S. Army. Developers described him as “a Nathan-Drake” type of character. He was tasked to raid General Deathshead’s compound in 1946 where things went south, he took a shrapnel to the head and went into a coma. In the New Colossus, B.J. awakens in 1960 to see the world ruled by Nazi.
Anya is the nurse at the Psychiatric facility B.J. Blazkowicz was kept during his coma. She is B.J.’s love interest and is pregnant with his twins during the events of The New Colossus. B.J. saved the life of Anya when Nazis came to kill her parents, they both later joined Kreisau Circle resistance group.
Anya is now the team’s radio contact and translator, providing valuable information to B.J. during his missions. Our lead character will try to make the world whole again because he does not want to raise his kids in a world ruled by Nazis.
SS-Obergruppenführer Wilhelm “Deathshead” Strasse
Deathshead was the creator of a technology that allowed Nazis to push back the Allied advances in 1946. He is a sadistic killer and a genius mind. In 1960, Deathshead is Reich Minister of Advanced Research. Back in 1964, he captured B.J. and his team and made him choose who lives and dies. However, he killed the ones B.J. choose to save. He later met his ultimate demise at the hands of B. but the hero took some serious damage himself
Obergruppenführer Irene Engel
The character first appears in The New Order, she has major phycological issues. She speaks with B.J. on the train to Berlin and makes him choose between some photos, playing cruel mind games. We later find out that she is in charge of Camp Belica, a concentration camp in Croatia. She either kills the prisoners on arrival or uses them as slaves for labor.
The camp is also where Nazis are developing Über Concrete, their primary building material. B.J. breaks out some prisoners from
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is scheduled to release on October 27 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is currently available for pre-order on all three platforms. Take note that the game arrives just two weeks after The Evil Within 2, another major title from Bethesda Softworks.
