The biggest highlight from this year’s E3 2017 was Anthem, EA’s and BioWare’s next sci-fi RPG. The gameplay footage was really interesting but Anthem’s lore and story of this new IP is still a mystery. However, it is expected to be as amazing as the first two Mass Effect games.
Earlier, we found out that Anthem’s story is being penned by the original Mass Effect writer, who also worked on Mass Effect 2. The writer in question is none other than Drew Karpyshyn. The extent of his involvement is unclear but we can expect to a much better story compared to Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda.
The inclusion of Drew on the writers team gives hope to those disappointed by Andromeda and Mass Effect 3.
Anthem is described as an “action adventure” game and not a role-playing experience. The story-telling team at BioWare excels in the latter, but should not be counted out even if the game has slightly deviated from the genre.
According to creative director Jonathan Warren, Anthem’s lore is a great BioWare story. Players can expect “the great RPG character development and story progression that BioWare is known for.”
Anthem features a rich expansive world that is full of life. The beautiful scenery of vast mountains and lush forests makes us hope that we will be able to explore to some degree.
Anthem will release sometime next year for Xbox, PlayStation 4, and PC. The title is optimized for better graphical performance on Xbox One X but the title is not running at native 4K.
