Xbox One X was the highlight of the Microsoft’s E3 press conference and the console is definitely incredible. However, fans were disappointed as they were expecting a large number of first-party exclusives to be announced at the press conference. However, Xbox head has teased that more Xbox One first-party titles are in the pipeline.
Speaking with Eurogamer, Xbox head Phil Spencer was asked about Xbox One first-party titles and according to Spencer, “we’ve signed some things we haven’t announced”. It seems that Microsoft is waiting for the right moment to announce these first-party titles.
I’ve lived through announcing things too early and then had to live up to the hype while you’re trying to go build the game, and I’m learning. I’m not a big fan of that. So I want to give teams the time.
He added that publishers revealing the game before developers are ready to show it is something that many companies struggle with. According to Spencer, Microsoft is not alone in revealing the game the have a couple of E3 between the reveal the release.
as a platform holder there’s tension because, if I had shown Master Chief running around in 4K on the screen, the place would have gone crazy.
In related news, Phil Spencer has also revealed that Microsoft wants Original Xbox emulation on PC. He explained that things get challenging while trying to emulate games in a way that works for PC with so many different configurations but that “it’s in our future”.
